DNS and SSL basics

Last updated Jun 30, 2026

Domains, SSL, and your live site depend on correct DNS configuration.

Domains

If you purchased domain registration through Everything Cloud, provisioning tasks track registrar progress. If you use an external registrar, you may need to point nameservers or DNS records to the values we provide after setup.

SSL certificates

SSL is typically issued after your domain resolves to the correct server. Propagation can take from minutes to 48 hours depending on your DNS provider and TTL settings.

Common DNS records

  • A / AAAA — point your hostname to the server IP
  • CNAME — alias one hostname to another (often used for www)
  • MX — mail routing for email hosting products
  • TXT — verification and SPF/DKIM for email deliverability

Exact values for your order appear in provisioning communications or your hosting detail page when available.

Troubleshooting

If your site does not load or SSL shows an error:

  1. Confirm DNS changes have propagated (use an external DNS lookup tool).
  2. Check provisioning task status on your order page.
  3. Contact support with your domain name and order ID if the issue persists after propagation.
